ENA solicits resolutions and bylaws amendment proposals from ENA members annually. Resolutions and bylaws amendments are brought forth for consideration at the General Assembly, ENA’s annual business meeting.
A resolution is a main motion identifying a topic of importance expressed formally in writing and includes a “Whereas” clauses summarize the reasoning, and “Resolved” clauses identify proposed action to be taken by ENA. Resolutions may be authored and submitted by the ENA Board of Directors, ENA committees, the Journal of Emergency Nursing Editorial Board, a state council or chapter, or by a voting ENA member.
Bylaws are the rules and regulations enacted to provide a framework for the association’s operation and management. A bylaws amendment is a formally written proposal for a main motion. Bylaws amendment proposals may be authored and submitted by any five voting members, the ENA Board of Directors, or any state council.
The submission deadline for resolutions is 12:00 pm CST on Thursday, March 1. Bylaws amendment submissions are due by 12:00 pm CDT on Wednesday, June 27.
